Great solution to an increasingly common problem on GM trucks

Fixed an air conditioning issue where the driver's side would switch to the heater while the passenger's side remained iced up. Apparently this mixed door operator remains locked, allowing the heater to continue to power only the driver's side. A great solution to an increasingly common problem on GM trucks. FYI, if the problem is reversed, there is a second actuator (different part number) that controls passenger airflow. This is located deeper in the dashboard.

5 stars for Dorman. 1 for GM

Five stars for this part of solving the driver side air vent hot air issue on our 2005 Tahoe Z71 at a fraction of the cost of a mechanic or dealer repair. One star for GM's recessed screw access design, which makes it nearly impossible to maneuver fingers and tools. As others have reported the infamous 3rd cover screw over the center console was a pain to remove and would not come back when reinstalled. My 2008 GMC Sierra with Dual Climate Control started blowing random hot air out of the driver side vents. You can turn off the ignition, then it will go back to normal or almost normal.
