It's worth buying even if you don't need it yet.

Works great in a 2002 Jeep Wrangler X. Be careful not to over tighten. At first I thought the threads on my stick fork had broken as they would loosen over time, but it actually came apart. Luckily I had a spare when it completely failed. If I knew how easy it is to replace it I would have replaced it a long time ago, all you need is a pair of needle nose pliers. I'll pick up a spare now in case I'm not a big fan of the brittle plastic, but hopefully it will last.

  • Automotive

Great part. The padding was a bit big.

I bought this to replace the drain plug on my Jeep TJ. This is exactly the same as the original, but the rubber spacer was too big. I wasn't aware of that for a long time. I plugged in and tightened it and everything seemed fine. A month or more goes by and I notice that I'm low on coolant. It took me a while to realize that the gasket wasn't fitting properly into the drain. Pretty much trial and error as to why it was only leaking from the drain at normal operating pressure. Gasket shortened…

Worked as expected: Engine Coolant and Climate Control

Worked as expected. It's a bit smaller and thinner than the original tap, but it actually fits. I just hate the whole design in general. If I didn't want to spend $400 on a new custom aluminum heatsink I wouldn't bother, but the original leaked and that's only a fraction of a few bucks. The reality is that a drain cock shouldn't be made out of cheap plastic when used in an environment like an RADIATOR where it will constantly cycle between extreme hot and cold with every use of the vehicle…

Pros
  • Engine Coolant and Climate Control
Cons
  • Not as thick as other kits
