🔧 Dorman 696-706 Engine Air Intake Hose: Versatile Black Replacement for Toyota Models Review

I don't recall ordering or installing this as I ordered in 2012 but haven't had any issues that I know of since then. . I've been in the engine bay many times and haven't noticed anything wrong so this product is holding up well. Dorman is a great OEM alternative from time to time.

had to change my intake hose to let the smog through so instead of going to Toyota and spending over $100 Revain had one and got it and installed it quickly. A small hook at one of the smaller entrances. The original tube was about 1/8 smaller. It took a bit of lube and good handwork to get it in there. Works great, passed.

Perfect fit. It was quite difficult to fully attach the lower hose connector, but that's just Toyota's design, not this particular part. Also, I had to drill a little more hole in the bottom mounting tab for the pin to fit. but it didn't matter much. I think it's an OEM because it's exactly the same as the one I took off. My intuition tells me this part should cost around $50. not $80. But nothing, it's done. and it works.

Product appears to be well made and goes well with my 1997 2.2 liter Camry LE. HOWEVER I have a word of warning. Before installing, I highly recommend looking inside to make sure there is no rubber scrap from the manufacturing process. By sheer coincidence I happened to notice a nickel sized piece of rubber hanging inside when a hole was punched for the L shaped resonator on the side. It might not have done any harm when it was sucked into the engine, but it probably wouldn't have been good.

As this part is much more expensive at the dealer I will not complain because it fixed my gaping hole in the intake manifold. for a lot less $$$. But this thing has been smelling really bad (like a skunk, to be honest) since I took it out of the box and has been stinky for a few weeks now; like the rubber it's made of is cheap or something. Firstly if I were to keep the car for a long time I would choose a Toyota OEM part with a much higher quality / price. Their rubber products are as good as can be. However, we will be selling this machine for a year so durability was not a necessity. It fitted well (although a third hand would have been handy), but the hose nipple that connects directly to the valve cover wasn't the same diameter as the original. Bought and fitted to a 1999 Toyota Camry LE. Looks right and hopefully that helps. Only time can tell. We recommend that you first connect the plastic tab through the hole in the bracket at the bottom before attaching anything else. It was a pain trying to insert it when both ends were already attached. Fits my 1999 Toyota Camry LE 4 cyl. very good. When replacing the original, I had to cut a piece of plastic under the air intake hose to get it out. Another small issue I had was the side port on the left when looking at the car from the front.
