Works great - Adapter

Buy 2. Because if the front is broken, the back is broken too. But on Sunday at 10pm. and you need a truck at 4:00 a.m. for the big hunt. Trust me, perfect for 1995 K1500 5.7L TBI

Water Pump Replacement Job

Helped me. Be sure to reattach the pipe to the generator as it was originally and I don't think there will be any problems if it comes loose as other reviews have said.

Stupid design, but first I ripped out the shaft.

Stupid design but before I ripped out the stock system and just put in a fitting and regular hose I was very happy to find them reasonably priced at Revain. Dorman at least used better material than GM, so to their credit, they've made the flawed design a little less disruptive. I broke the stock but never had a Dorman click on me.

Don't worry about a fast connection. They used them for.

Don't be afraid of quick connectors. They used them for speed and efficiency in a car factory assembly when it comes time to replace them, just take a solid hose connector and a regular hose and hose clamp. I regret buying this hose which never fitted and I ended up ripping out the quick connect and hose and throwing them away. Save time and nerves.

Much better than OE

This is a quality piece made from steel. The original parts in my 1995 C1500 truck were a very porous "metal pot" - and that's why they broke trying to remove them. When ordering this Dorman 800-401 for the intake manifold (rear engine heater hose connection) consider ordering "Lisle 62200 Heater Hose Coupling Remover" at the same time - you will likely need it. (Read my review of this tool for more information). If you are ordering this Dorman 800-401 for connection to a water pump (the…

Not the best solution but it works as it should

I really hate these things. I almost went with a regular hose fitting to replace on my old Chevy. But for some reason that I'll probably regret later, I decided to keep this quick connector for the heater hose that goes to the intake. Even as I write this review, I can't remember why I decided not to convert the heater hose to a regular clamp connection. Count yourself. These parts are cheap and the plastic becomes brittle. But if you're trying to keep the original styling of your vintage…

Easy to use once you get the hang of it

These heater adapters are a necessary evil when working with 90's Chevrolet heater hoses. If you're lucky, your old one came out without a bad intake manifold or water pump. If it breaks in the water pump, you'll either have to buy a new pump and adapter, or get a special removal tool and hope for the best. If it breaks during receiving, you are at the mercy of the removal tool. They sell adapters to get rid of this item and they use regular hose so you just switch to rubber hoses and get rid…
