Perfect fit for 2007 Chrysler Town & Country

Many Chrysler Town & Country vans and probably Dodge Caravans with separate rear air conditioning can fail due to the rear evaporator. You end up with two choices. Either spend over a thousand to fix it or have a mechanic cut off the entire rear air conditioner and cover the wires with it. I chose the cheaper route. I still have the air conditioner and it only cost me about $140.

Pros
  • Many will fit
Cons
  • I'm worried

100% satisfied: Spare parts

Use a pipe cutter to cut the pipe without damage and cut off the end. Use sandpaper or 600 grit sandpaper to clean up the line and remove any burrs. Install the fitting according to the instructions. No leaks. No headaches and my front AC is working again after cleaning and charging the system. This item costs over $50 at the auto parts store, so Revain is the place to get it.

Pros
  • Simple design
Cons
  • Without machine

Excellent barriers to complete the back lines.

My 1998 Sienna had a large leak in the rear evaporator line (the location was marked with oil). Rather than replacing expensive lines on an old car, I installed 1/2" and 5/8" terminations to plug the lines coming in from the back where they exit the Y firewall. New dryer installed, 2.7 oz installed. Supercool PAG46 oil/dye, vacuum (took 30 inches for an hour) and charge the system. At registration it is kept at 40 degrees. Huge time and money savings!

Works great with spares

They work very well. I have used this and a similar model which is a splice connector several times to repair air conditioning lines. I ran into a problem with this project because the place I was supposed to cut the line didn't have enough straight tubing for this guy to fully tighten and sit on, so it leaked after installation. It's not the product's fault, it just didn't fit where I wanted to place it in this app. The line needs to be fully inserted into the silver nut at the end, so keepโ€ฆ

Permanent repair not temporary

Bought these for a cheaper alternative than another lockout kit for a Dodge Grand Caravan that was leaking in the rear air conditioning. This kit will NOT work with leads already connected. You must cut the AC line for this kit to work. When you cut you need to make sure you have at least 4-5 inches to work with so the end of the line goes all the way into the silver part of the kit or it doesn't seal it. I returned this product because I didn't want to cut my lines. The product descriptionโ€ฆ

Works well, good set.

Installed this kit (along with the 3/8 version) on the rear A/C lines on my 2011 Dodge Durango. I cut the wires next to the transfer case and installed those wires as directed. Walk slowly and be careful. AC lines are pressurized at about 40 psi. So if you come across one that isn't fully discharged, BEWARE. Make sure you cut the lines with the correct pipe cutter, you want a nice, clean and even cut. Smooth the edges and clean the inside of the tubes with a cotton swab. Installation wasโ€ฆ
