Works good needs more parts in kit

Worked great and completely fixed a coolant leak. Fits right where you need it. It would be nice if they refilled it with new bolts and ALL O-rings. The only o-ring included is the one that goes against the head, none of the hose o-rings are included. But okay.

2001 Volkswagen Passat Fixed

Same part as my local dealer but I saved more than half the price. There was a leak and all I had to do was buy another o-ring for the other outlet that plugs into this one. I wish Dorman would consider including another o-ring and a very small tube or bag of silicone glue.

This is a great replacement part that fixes a common VW fault.

This is a great replacement part that fixes a common problem with VW 1.8T engines. Be sure to purchase 2 additional O-rings that are not included. You will need one for the coolant tube and one for the coolant hose. It's also a good idea to order a plastic retaining clip as these are usually commercially available and can easily break.

good replacement for a poorly designed part

I don't know what the VW/Audi engineers were thinking when they decided plastic coolant parts were better than aluminum parts. I believe that many coolant system repairs involve improper coolant selection; causes accelerated decomposition of aluminum; This part uses an O-ring slot to prevent displacement and leakage. Do not overtighten just one or both bolts. and this part will work as intended.

Super weak.: Engine cooling and air conditioning

I installed this part and the threaded inserts on the side of the coolant inlet simply pulled out. I didn't even get a chance to put a key on it to pull it. They came out when tightening by hand. He turned with the strength of his thumb and forefinger, and they kept turning and turning. There was also no O-ring for that side. Mine just broke and you can get a perfect one, but it still sucks because shipping is understandably taking extra time due to the pandemic and all. The part is so cheapโ€ฆ
