Not worth the money

I was extremely disappointed with this replacement part. After I put it to the test in my automotive, the performance was worse than before. The installation was also a hassle and took much longer than expected. The only upside was that it seemed durable, but that isn't enough to make up for its poor performance. I do not recommend this product to others looking for a reliable replacement part in the Exhaust & Emissions category of Replacement Parts.

Pros
  • Durable steel construction for long-lasting performance
Cons
  • Requires some mechanical knowledge and tools to install properly

It does the job! - Exhaust and Emissions

My last Dorman EGR valve lasted 8 years. maybe it will be this one. Installed on a 2000 Honda Odyssey. Every few years the EGR ports get clogged and need to be cleaned to keep the CEL from giving out codes. Especially on the Odyssey; Clogged ports can cause hesitation and stuttering at highway cruising speeds and give the impression of a poor powertrain.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Cheap repair, everything was fine until it stopped working.

Sudden engine stop has been fixed. I cleaned the old one and it worked for a while but not for long. The carbon varistor is probably worn out after 15 years of use. Hats off. Update: December 2016 Well it's been almost 2 years, just over 10,000 miles on a 2001 odyssey. It suddenly stopped working. CEL and TCS came alone. Pulled MIL code (Malfunction Indicator), P1491, EGR insufficient lift. Yes, it was working fine until suddenly it stopped working. Contacted Dorman via online chat. Kevin…
