This is a good replacement for the original. Passed without any problems. And it works just like the original. Be sure to lubricate the hood latch when installing this cable.

I replaced this and it broke just like the original when I first used it. So I finally cut it off and fed the wire out the front of the grille, wrapped the wire around the large washer and pulled to pop the hood open. output $$$$$$

I bought a van with a broken wire that the owner taped to the outside of the hood. It had to be completely replaced. It took me about ten minutes to swap them out after removing all the grill parts etc. Works great. Very happy with my purchase.

YOU SHOULD LUBRICATE YOUR LOCKING MECHANISM! interruption. It turned out that all I had to do was lubricate the mechanism with anti-seize and WD40. works wonderfully!

When I found a part for my mother's '96 Dodge Caravan I was delighted. When I received and installed the part, after completion when I wanted to try it, it broke and fell apart! Low end and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Worst of all, it broke on a section unrelated to the moving parts of the product. Very disappointed!

This product is NOT a cheap assembly. It just doesn't get installed properly by the end user. I replaced the escapement cable on my Plymouth van and it is almost the same as the original OEM part. For those of you who say you have to push the hood to open it? Try cleaning, sanding and re-greasing the part of the hood that goes into the hood latch! This is probably why your original broke in the first place! I cleaned the old grease on the part on the hood that closes, sanded off all the rust…
