🔧 Dorman 924-712 Shifter Release Repair Kit - Enhanced White for Optimal Searching Review

Purchased for 2006 from HHR. Fixed sticky ignition key issue. Note: None of the pins will fit; too large. However, I was able to successfully use an existing pin. Instructions are easy to understand and follow.

This item saved me over $200. It worked great on my Chevy HHR. I figured sticking my finger through the hole in the steering column to loosen the key, too, as it was when I got a new car. Installation takes some time, but it's worth it.

Simple repair kit. This is a universal kit suitable for multiple models/cars. I used it on my 2005 Chevy Cobalt and it was the perfect solution. Fixed a very common issue with the key getting stuck in the ignition. If you have an ignition problem or need help, there are numerous videos on YouTube to help you troubleshoot the issue.

Excellent work. The instructions were pretty clear and well presented. It was nice to have two options in the package just in case. A bit more detail on where and how much to lube and what kind of lube would be nice too. Too bad everything is made in China. The delivery was quick and well packaged. I found this kit to be a great option to other repair options I found for a "key stuck in ignition" problem on our 2006 Chevy Cobalt with only 66,054 miles. Chevrolet needs to do the right thing and recall and fix all the crazy little problems that many of their cars like the 2006 Cobalt have after a few years and reasonable mileage.
