Doesn't snap

Like many other reviews, this one doesn't snap. It is not attached to the valve cover. You can't remove the oil cap until the whole thing is rotated. It looks like an easy decision for Dorman. Will return.

Pros
  • Dope ๐Ÿ”ฅ
Cons
  • Some issues

Fits like OEM: Replacement parts

Fits like OEM but that's the problem. If your OEM spins when you remove the 710 cover, remove and inspect it first. If the o-ring still looks good and the locking tab is intact, the new filler neck will still turn. Mine is still spinning and it was a waste of money.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Can't remember

Will not fit: Oil Dipsticks and Tubes

Looks identical to the original part but there are differences. Irregularly shaped internal locking tab to keep oil cap from closing. The lower part of the neck is also not very suitable. I would recommend sticking with the OEM part for this particular item. I've had this on two different cars, both Dorman. These parts must be checked for accuracy of fit prior to sale.

Pros
  • This is Great
Cons
  • Faulty

Save money, buy OEM

This is junk. It didn't snap into the rocker cover. The top of the tube was too narrow for the original cap, making it very difficult to tighten and almost impossible to remove. The fill tube wobbled in the cap exposing the blue o-ring. This leads to potential vacuum leaks and emissions system malfunctions. I bought a genuine GM tube from the dealer today and it snaps on perfectly and the lid works as intended. Sometimes Dorman is good, but not this time.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Disappear

Two stars only: Parts

This is my first problem with a Dorman part. This is the correct part for my Suburban Chevy 01. The problem is that it doesn't snap into place. It's hard to say what the problem is. Looks absolutely identical to the original part. Looks like the lock rod isn't long enough to fit the lock cam on the valve cover or something. I even checked the part number on the Dormans website to make sure I wasn't wrong, but it worked the first time. You win something, you lose something.

Pros
  • Solid finish
Cons
  • Damaged

Serves its purpose but fits strangely

Everything ok but a strange fit problem. The oil cap had to be pushed in. I bought a new lid and it was a little tighter too! I had to push hard. So I sanded down the surface around the cap to make it narrower and finally I was able to attach it without actually fusing it to the tube; If I didn't, he would quickly stop removing the lid. But. Surprise surprise! The hose dangles a little in the valve cover. So he wants to get out of the motor easily (although he won't fall out easily), but theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Long delivery time
