Bobbins SQ9185

Product arrived in good condition and fits my Brother sewing machine model SQ9185 perfectly, will buy this item again.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other patterns

A little cheap

The price was great but the thread is quite thin and twists all the time which is a real problem when you sew and put the fabric under the presser foot first. Each time you have to fiddle with straightening the twisted thread. It just annoyed me so I didn't want to bother with it anymore and just threaded my bobbin. A better thread quality would be very good. It also breaks easily, causing pain when you try to tie the tails at the end.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than others

WORKS WELL ON BOTH MY BROTHERS' MACHINES: XL3750 and LX3817

About 58 cents each, I can't be wrong. On my new LX3817 I have to guide the line with my finger as it is being wound to fill the spool and have a hard time seeing if it is building up smoothly. I wound the bobbin on an old machine (XL3750) that winds automatically. Although I usually wrap several at a time, I bought the LX3817 so that I don't have to go to an unheated sewing room in winter. I was hesitant as thread seems lighter on pre-wound bobbins, but this is NOT an issue on either machine…

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Out of style
