ooma dp1 PHONES for office electronics

THIS PHONE CAN ONLY BE CONNECTED TO THE OOMA BOX WIRELESSLY (NO ADDITIONAL NETWORK CABLE). IT IS LIMITED TO 4 DEVICES CONNECTED TO THE OOMA BASE (INCLUDING THE ANALOG LINE COMING FROM THE BASE - USED FOR THE FAX MACHINE). SOMETIMES YOU HAVE COMMUNICATION PROBLEMS WITH THE BASE STATION AND METAL VOICE. YOU MUST HAVE A GOOD LINE (FIBER OPTIC WAN CONNECTION PREFERRED) AND A SHORT DISTANCE BETWEEN THE PHONE AND THE BASE TO GET GOOD SOUND. OOMA CISCO 504G IS MUCH BETTER THAN PHONES AND WORKS ON POE

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Reliable

Bought 3 units of Ooma just to find out.

Bought 3 devices from Ooma only to find out these phones are in "beta testing" but activate them anyway so they can be used. We are now on our 6th day and none of the phones connect properly to the base, everyone in tech support (call center) says they don't have information on how to set up DP1 and the e-mails to tech support go unanswered. I'll return them if they can't be used for the general public, but perhaps they should be removed by Revain as they shouldn't be released to the public.

Good quality VoIP phone

We have been using the Ooma system for many years. I was using a regular phone linked to Telo via Link, but it didn't have conference calling and needed to check my voicemail through the website, so I bought an Ooma DP1. I use it with my second connection for my home office. I like the sound quality of the call. Some quirky features I can live with - hard to press buttons and I still can't figure out the speed dial setting. I bought an ienza 3.5mm female to 2.5mm male adapter to use my…

The keyboard is hard to press

I've been an Ooma fan for over ten years. I bought a Telo for family members and replaced my original 1st generation Telo with the latest version. There is an HD2 phone and Linux devices. Ooma support is the best. Now for the bad. I bought the DP1 to replace my desk phone. Good ad. Too bad the phone's sound quality is terrible. The audio is blurry. The keys on the keyboard are so tight I thought I had a defective unit. I contacted Ooma support and they offered to return it to Revain, which I…

Works most of the time. Useful but could be a lot better.

This phone works for the most part, but it freezes from time to time. We've had it for about 6 months now and twice it crashed and I had to unplug the power and battery to restart it. In both cases when you try to connect to an incoming call routed to me from another Ooma DP1 phone and they lose. The sound quality is average. Others have commented on the lack of feedback when pressing the buttons, which is mostly true, but not entirely true. There is an option in the menu to enable button…

It's a two-line phone!

Don't listen to the reviewer who says it's not a two-line phone. It's a two-line phone system! This man just didn't know how to use it. Yes, it's true that Ooma gives you two lines when you subscribe to Ooma Premier. My partner and I both work from home so we bought two of these desk phones. 1 for his home office and 1 for mine above. If you subscribe to Ooma Premier, be sure to select a second phone number in your my.ooma.com account. Reboot your Ooma Telo Air Box and you are done after that…

  • Very expensive

Second update: Both phones have been replaced with version 2. This was my 4th replacement set. These version 2 phones are finally working. No more distorted sound. I still think OOMA needs to fire those who test them before release. Fun. updates. Ooma has been trying to solve this problem for a few months. I have the third set of these phones. yes but it works Ooma called me and said the version 1 phones were buggy and they fixed the problem with version 2. You have two version 2 phones on the…

The phone is not a dual line!

I have had Ooma for many years and am mostly happy with it. However, I had some issues that I thought buying this Ooma DP1 phone would solve. I have two phone numbers using Ooma, with a Telo device and Linx for two separate phone lines. They have been connected to my two-line landline at my house for many years. I can press Line 1 or Line 2 on my 2-line landlines and make or receive calls on either line. Fax never worked as intended on Linx so my Line 2 is set to Telo as I have found that faxes
