Watery, liquid and doesn't really work as ink so a bit misleading. I found that the colors are not strong enough and they are very transparent, ink is strong and only needs one coat. I returned to acrylics and still use black ink when I paint. Very disappointing.

Bought this for fun, ordered a concealing liquid for watercolor and portrait work but couldn't get the highlights on my teeth bright enough. I noticed an ink bottle I just bought and decided to give it a try. It worked great for lightening the glare on the teeth. Good product.

I dampen a section of watercolor paper and let the ink drop flow. Sometimes I use a brush. I clean the brush thoroughly and immediately as it is a waterproof ink. Once dry I can then use watercolors on it and the colors are still very separate although they still seem to blend. The reason I don't give this five stars like I would almost any other PH Martin Bombay ink is because they are not absolutely perfect like most colours. White is harsh and few watercolors or inks get it right. Worth it…
