Stick to Dremel branded discs

Unfortunately everything Dremel says is expensive. Revain is cheaper than your local big box store, so shop here. You're cutting stainless steel, but you'll use up a 5-pack pretty quickly. Try doubling them up so they last longer.

Pros
  • Great overall specs
Cons
  • Expensive

Ideal for metal cutting. Wear safety glasses.

Works as expected. They cut metal well. They wear out pretty quickly when cutting harder metals, but what do you expect? You cut metal! As a plumber they are ideal for cutting jammed nuts, much smoother than a saw. Wear safety glasses!

They last longer than EZ Lock discs.

The EZ-lock is cool, but they get hot and disengage from the center hub before the disc wears out, and they cost more. These only have a tiny screw in the shaft. Of course, it takes longer to install, but with them I can cut all the way. Highly recommended.

Buy Once, Cry Once - Power Tools & Hand Tools

These are great and last longer than any other discs I've tried from half a dozen brands. They can break if you're not careful, but they hold up much better than the others. I've had no trouble cutting wood, PVC, steel, and aluminum. Remember that metal wears out faster than softer materials. But it will be a multi-blade job unless original or even lighter Dremel cutting discs are used. Very happy.

Better than the tiny originals, but still won't stand up to modification

They're better than the flimsy ones that deflate instantly, but not much better. At this thickness, it's still a brittle disk, and the tiny hole in the center remains the breaking point. If you can't sand what you're cutting, this is probably your best option. I've tried aftermarket "diamond" wheels and they dulled instantly - who knew diamonds didn't last forever? Anyhow, a slight improvement over the standard if you really need a tiny cut-off wheel.

Outstanding durability! best in Power Rotary Tool Parts & Accessories

Well these cutting discs are a definite improvement over standard cutting discs which are brittle and wear out quickly. I've lost count of how many of those stock bikes have broken on me - very frustrating. And even if you're very careful not to break them, standard wheels wear out quickly. These reinforced cut-off wheels have greatly improved durability and wear resistance; With one I was able to cut through two car muffler bolts, one 9/16" and one 11/16" without breaking and with little wheel

Save the Day!: Power Tool Parts & Accessories

My husband was fixing a leaking shower and had to pull the center section of the handle out of the handle to replace the washer but it was snapped and frozen. Place. I have a Dremel that I use for dog nails (sanding part) that also has one of these cut-off wheels in the kit. I figured if that didn't work the worst that could happen would be replacing the entire shower with new handles. In less than a minute he was able to cut just enough into the screw for the screwdriver to grab and unscrew…

Better than a Dremel 420 wheel - very satisfied

I've known about Dremel since they first came out when I was in college as it was a popular tool at the time. However, I have never owned it. Even after 10 years I still didn't have it, but always wanted to have it. Luckily my wife gave me one for Christmas. I had a good idea of how the dremel works but never used it. So it was a surprise when I used it for a grill modification project 2 weeks ago and saw my Dremel 420 cutting discs turn into protrusions. I didn't realize that some of the…
