I bought this unit based on the only review that it worked with the Dremel 4000. I base my rating on that. So will this work with my Dremel 4000? Yes, but it is definitely NOT designed for the Dremel 4000. The copper nib is longer and thinner than the original. So when you insert it it may be pushed in at an angle, it won't make good contact, so DO NOT use this spring! To use OEM nibs you will need to shave the brush attachment point a bit with sand. paper or folder. It's quick and easy enough.

Buy Dremel parts for your trusty Dremel tool!

My wife gave me my Dremel Mdl 395 years ago. Tried to think how long, but more than 15 years. It was a workhorse, from cutting gaps in exhaust pipes to snipping off rusty brackets to cutting door hinge pins in half for removal. More things than I can remember. I tested it the other day by cutting four (4) lower arm nuts on a Nissan Pathfinder. Heavy use, lots of heat from engine, went through 10 cutting discs when they cut, jammed and broke two. Perfect fit for Dremel 3000 but didn't solve my problem

Just to confirm these are the correct brushes for Dremel 3000 and fit perfectly. However, the replacement did not solve my problem (the motor sometimes turned on when the device was shaken). Cleaning the area on the motor where the brushes met didn't fix the problem either. The problem turned out to be that the four pins coming out of the other motor housing (name not sure, it plugs into the switch assembly) weren't making good contact. I figured this out by playing around with the switch…
