Just a few fasteners and it works

Required to convert loop-laced sneakers to eyelet lace-ups. Good for crimping eyelets. Didn't try to cut with the bits provided as I bought a separate hole punch. But it fits 5/32 grommets perfectly and compresses them in the way I expect and need.

  • Nice item

Not suitable for arthritic hands

Very strong and useful tools for normal hands, but I damaged the joint in one of my arthritic fingers quite badly when trying to replace parts. Hands like mine need a non-interchangeable straight eye tool. Good product, just doesn't suit me.

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • Reliability

Easy Install Sleeve

It took a lot of tutorials to show how this could be used. This product page looks a lot simpler than it actually is. For some reason I couldn't punch the hole with the larger piece and had to use scissors to start the process. However, works great for actually inserting a sleeve! Very good clean results!

Pros
  • Wide Range
Cons
  • Requires Socket

Not suitable for sewing

I sent it back because it didn't fit. It will not punch holes in the fabric or bend the loop. I even tested it on my denim (pretty thin fabric!) and it just crumpled the fabric under the pliers instead of punching a hole. I used 1/4" grommets which the pliers are supposed to be compatible with, but even when I tried other sizes they didn't work either.

It punches holes in fabric and sets eyelets

If you're looking for a durable tool to poke holes in fabric and attach grommets/eyelets, look no further. This tool is very easy to use even if you have arthritis problems. Overall this tool is worth the investment and I highly recommend reading the instructions before using this product to help you use these pliers properly. Overall this tool is worth the investment, some fabrics you may have to smack harder to get a clean 360 hit or you will end up with hanging fumes. The gray tool makes it…

Good, but could be better

I bought these for an office project to punch through laminated paper, which they did well, and to attach 5/32" nickel grommets (I still have 1 / 4" try them out). They work well, but you have to precariously balance the lugs on the tool heads, so they don't sit very securely, which can sometimes make it difficult to align them perfectly. This tool comes with a lot of small accessories, this is great because it adds versatility but a small plastic case or something to store it would be nice I…

A manufacturing defect affects a good product

This tool worked great for 5/32 inch eyelets. For my project I needed 1/4" grommets and bought two piece grommets that size. All my training attempts ended in disaster. The resulting eyes were deformed except for one which split. What the hell? After I removed the part of the grommet holder (lime color) I found that it was too big to hold the eyelet properly (yes I measured it).The tab was askew because the center of the holder was too big.The deformed eyes gave out suddenly make sense. The…
