Great idea, but not the materials. The cover is made of a material that fades to a very light gray after a few months and becomes brittle after about 6 months from exposure to the sun and tears on its own. Plan to buy a few or find a UV inhibitor spray/liquid to treat the lid.

Bought this for my £12k Harbor Freight Badlands winch. Fits like a glove. I liked the yellow stitching, it looked nice. Protects the winds from rain even during very strong thunderstorms. Stayed perfectly in place at motorway speeds including a 4 hour drive. This would have given it a 5 star rating but it failed to keep its colour. After a little over two months, it faded a lot. The top has turned very light gray but the sides are still black. Still protects the winds but looks terrible.

This case is very light and I doubt it will be waterproof but it will protect my winch from debris. It fits my Superwinch LP8500 well but is held in place by a rubber band at the bottom, only there are no straps. You may need to throw a bungee around it to keep it in place. Overall I was happy with the price. Edit: Having used this case for a while I have to say I am very pleased that it is much more water resistant than I expected and that it remains strapless. money well spent

Bought to replace the one that came with my Smittybuilt XRC10k winch on my 05 Rubicon. The case fits very well and covers everything. My control box is mounted on the side of the winch and I was worried this cover wouldn't cover it, but it doesn't.
