Fits 2000 Dakota with 3.9 liter engine

Had a problem installing. It is necessary to remove the ignition coil with a rusted fastener to gain access to the mounting nut. I ended up removing the entire bracket and then reinstalling it. Works well and no more bearing noise.

Pros
  • Manufactured by
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for elderly

Exactly what my truck needs!

The pulley was just what I needed to fix a previously broken pulley. The belt runs smoothly with the new pulley and the price was a no brainer. A similar piece at the local store was doubled or more. I recommend shopping at Revain for your automotive needs.

Pros
  • Quick Change
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

2001 Ram 1500 Belt Tensioner and Pulley

Easy install with a 15mm wrench and a little sweat. This is the belt tensioner and pulley. You may only need to buy the tensioner, but since mine was 20 years old I figured I could spend a few bucks more and replace both. There are videos on the internet showing how to do it. I installed this on my 2001 Ram 1500 5.2L 2wd truck. Don't forget to buy a new serpentine belt.

Pros
  • This Is Amazing
Cons
  • Factor Kit

Overall a good replacement part

When I first opened the box I thought this part looked a little cheap (but so did my truck) but upon closer inspection I think this part has it will do a good job and appears to be built well enough to last many years. I only took off one star because I still find the part a little cheap, but most auto parts from China look like this. For half the price of a well known brand I think it will be ok.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Annoying

It can be fast, cheap, ugly, but it works great.

Ugly but does the job. I like the coil spring compared to the old coil spring. I like a little more tension for 6000 reps, so drill another hole in the bracket, but not too far. The strap will expand and contract. Remove the coil, move the wires. Install the tensioner, mark both tension and static points with a pencil to ensure movement distance. Drill a 1/4 inch hole counterclockwise in the steel bracket. Not peeping! Spray some lubricant on the underside of the tensioner and install.

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Good tensioner for my old Dodge truck.

This belt tensioner with pulley fitted easily into my trusty old truck. The exact model of my truck is a '98 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie SLT, 5.2L engine, 2WD. I was thinking of a "Gates" belt tensioner for almost double the price, but this one seems to be just as good as my OEM tensioner. All of the protrusions and holes were identical to the part I replaced. Installation was easy (move the strap! then a 15mm nut). The hardest part was finding my rotating ratchet and getting to that nut. If you're…
