I used this Buck Converter to make a backup battery for my Raspberry Pi. I used a 12v battery from a UPS with a float charger to keep the battery charged. This device makes it very easy to connect your Pi using a standard USB cable.

Power supply is noisy and interferes with sound when powered via Bluetooth audio converter. However, this does not affect the operation of the equipment installed on my aircraft. Ideal for devices that do not require a pure, silent power supply.

Wanted to add USB ports to my golf cart. That helped. 4 stars not 5 because it came without the screws needed to secure the USB ports. A template would also be helpful for cutting holes in the dash and drilling holes for the screws. Remember to include a fuse in the circuit in case you or a faulty tool shorts it out during or after installation. .

I've always liked DROK products and this is no exception. It's well built and just works. The 8-50V input range is AMAZING, I can use it with any power supply I have. The only thing that worries me is the heat. There's a 3A max limit, and I've used it so far with some USB string lights that draw 0.05A (according to my test meter), and in a room that's about 68 degrees Fahrenheit it starts to get hot. I wonder how much it heats up at a higher load?

I installed this controller on my bike to charge my phone on the handlebars and bluetooth communicator on the helmet and it works great. While there is some heat generated when charging two devices, the heat didn't cause any issues or performance degradation. It charges both devices at a good speed (my phone supports "fast charging" but this controller doesn't support that feature, which I don't really care about). Super easy, effective and inexpensive.
