Description of ๐Ÿ”ง DROK Small Digital Multimeter DC 6.5-100V 50A: Voltage, Amperage, Power Energy Meter for Precision Monitoring - LCD Digital Display

The portable multi-meter has a Large-screen LCD, can display voltage, current, power, energy at the same time, bright and easy to read. Voltage test range: DC 6.5~100V; Current test range: 0~50A; Power test range: 0~5KW; Energy test range: 0~9999kWh. Multifunctional: the accumulated energy can be reset by button; Store data when power off; Voltage alarm function (over voltage alarm threshold, backlight and voltage will flash to alarm). With external shunt, default 100A, 50A option, please select 50A shunt first before using and please note when connecting load, the DC power - should go through the shunt to connect the meter -. The blue backlight can be turned on/off by the front accessible recessed switch located on the right side bezel.

Just right for a small solar power plant.

Excellent counter. Bought 2 for installing solar panels. One for the solar panel output, one for the load. Do not confuse shunt resistors. They seem to fit the meter. The readings were off until we switched the shunt resistors. look carefully at the diagram. I had to make a jumper between the two terminals to complete the circuit.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • The packaging is ugly

Multiple use - already usable

Although I originally bought this unit to get an accurate picture of the performance of my solar panels. However, I found myself moving it and also measuring voltage and current draw for my ham radio gear. It was interesting to get some detailed measurements and the most striking result of the tests was how much voltage drop some of my cables and connectors are causing. Hmmm.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • High price

This meter does not work well with dynamic loads.

This gauge doesn't seem to work well with dynamic loads. I hooked it up to a 36v 800w scooter to measure the power draw and every time I hit the gas the counter resets and reads all 88888888. It seems to come back to life after the draw current stabilizes, but with an electric scooter the draw current fluctuates wildly with speed and throttle changes, so the meter never has a chance to get an accurate reading, making this product great for dynamic loads is unsuitable.

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

I am happy with this meter.

This product works as advertised. I am planning to use this gauge in a backup power supply for ham radio and related equipment. What I like about it is that it can be used as a 100 or 50 amp meter. Since I will be using it for about 30 amp circuits (total), I decided to program it for a maximum of 50 amps. Of course, this required a 50 amp shunt, but that wasn't a problem. Pay close attention to the instructions as the programming, while not difficult, is not obvious.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Quick Start Guide

I have ordered two of these so far to make power supplies for ham radio and 3D printing applications and they are AWESOME! First of all, the power consumed over time. I helped determine the hardware power requirements for various deployments. I've had people asking me to build boxes with some of these just because of the amazing data you get when you have to run on battery power for long periods of time. One thing I didn't understand from the start (because I didn't read the instructions fully)

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Only available in black

That works great! Because of the above

There seem to be many of these multimeters from different manufacturers. I bought my first of its kind to control my solar system (I'm completely off the grid). I wired the meter to read zero amps and power when the solar panel is charging my batteries and vice versa when the battery is under load it will read all the numbers in full (volts, amps, power and energy. It works because of the above Having said that I have ordered another meter so I can monitor BOTH the solar array and the batteryโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly creased

This is for the 50A version with an external shunt on a plastic base, with separate holes to fix the base, to connect the power cables and connect the sensor cables. (The 100A version doesn't have an isolating base on the shunt, so you'll need to provide your own mounting base.) This is a fine meter, but it reads twice the actual current, and thus reads twice the actual power drawn. The meter is the same for 50A and 100A, only the shunt is different. Both shunts are designed to produce aโ€ฆ
