Best Outdoor Bag

Having the right gear bag is very important for a boat captain. I have two different DryCase bags. Gymsack 40 and Masonboro 35. Masonboro is the perfect bag and I've tried many. It has the right pockets in the right places. This is a wonderful company to deal with and the customer service here is top notch. You can chat with real people who can answer all your questions. They stand behind the products and are very easy to use. I don't usually write reviews but I am very happy with this bag. I…

  • Quality construction

  • Big and bulky

I LOVE my pack! I live in Astoria, Oregon and continue to do all of my summer sports from November through April, except for the typically heavy rains. So far my awesome Dry Case backpack has not only kept all my stuff dry, but it also makes me feel pretty cool carrying this thing around. If so, I would be the first to buy it. You know, sometimes I don't need a big backpack, but I need support because I collect heavy things: rocks, driftwood, glass. However, I love the packaging I have and the…

Large Waterproof Heavy Duty Backpack

I bought it 3 years ago this month. I use it almost every day. I bike all over town and commute 6 miles to and from work 4-6 days a week. I commuted 14 miles a few times a year at other times. Ironically, we had a very heavy downpour on the first day (unusual for central Oregon). I got wet everywhere, but in this backpack, my load and iPhone stayed completely dry. In the rain and snow, I've never failed to keep things dry indoors. When something spills inside you, it spills out from below. I…

3 years later. durable waterproof bag.

First impression - I'm glad I bought it. So far I've gotten it on the boat and my stuff has stayed dry. It can fit a bunch, which is nice. I tried filling it with water and it held most of it. It only lets a little water through at the top where the bag closes, but only if you hold the bag upside down. Also, 5 stars are a good first impression. Update May 31st 2015 - The metal grommets on the sides have been rusted by seawater so I'm a bit disappointed to find this. Less than 1 star. The bag is

The bag is excellent, remember the guarantee.

I really want to lower the price of the bag but it's not fair to the bag. This is a great bag, I hate the way they treat the warranty. First off, this is a really good bag. I'm a field researcher working at a university in Florida. I work out in the mangroves or on boats, the thing is, I'm out and need a reliable dry bag. I noticed my stuff getting damp on the inside and at first I thought it was a leaking water bottle or something. Last time I used it my stuff was soaked, my fault I should…

Broke after 13 months of daily use, bought another

UPDATE: I've been using this bag every day since I bought it and it finally broke after 409 days. Interestingly, it wasn't the straps or the hole that failed. The vinyl at the bottom of the bag is torn (see photo). I could use it for a while but now the hole is big enough for something to fall out so I need to replace it. I will buy the same bag again because it is so wonderful. There is nothing like it! This time I'll see if there are any preventive measures I can take to protect the vinyl…

Surprised more people don't use this bag

After 14 years of working from home I now take the bus. This involves about a mile walk to and from the bus stops. I wanted something waterproof so my electronics (laptop, tablet, sometimes a camera/video deck) wouldn't stand a chance of getting wet. I looked at several custom made laptop cases but only the very expensive ones were waterproof. I also looked at several other dry bag configurations, including those from REI and other local stores, and ended up with this bag. So far very happy…
