Pay attention! It's only BLE!

It works, but it is only Bluetooth LOW ENERGY. It communicates with my iPhone but not with my PC or my Android auto deck. Use in Arduino project. I have re-ordered another product from the same seller that supports both BLE and EDR after spending several hours learning more about the standards than I care to know. Hope this saves someone else some time. It's also interesting enough that the Arduino doesn't properly communicate with it until I plugged my phone into it, if I had read that…

HM-17 series issue in Computer Components

These HM-17 modules are advertised to operate over 20 meters (60 feet). According to the HM-17 data sheet, the modules should operate up to 100 m (60 ft) outdoors. But the modules I received only work at a much shorter distance of 3m (10ft). I will send them back and ask for a replacement kit (need 2 modules, apparently for communication). Perhaps one or both modules are defective? Aside from the range issue, the modules work as expected.

Don't buy, the only good thing is a small PCB where you can add your own hm-17

I bought two of these units and they both have the same problems, if you turn it off it won't reconnect until you turn off the power or reset it when you plug it into a separate power source, xm-17 won't connect and ground is connected, DS Firmware Tech has a lot of problems, I took one of their blocks off the breakout board and replaced them with one from HMSoft and there was no problem.
