Totally run down design and poor quality

. Only gave 1 star because 0 stars isn't an option. This thing is probably one of the cheapest items of its kind I've seen. As you can see from the photos I have provided there is a round brass nut that presses into either side of this device that is used for attachment. Attach this piece to any desired surface with the included bracket. The problem is that after applying about 3 ft-lbs of torque to the included handles, the brass nut is free to rotate in the body. Of course, this makes itโ€ฆ

Poor quality, outdated wiring diagram

Outdated instructions, random wire colors not conforming to any known wiring standard. The speaker codes match the colors of my radio wiring. Two black wires, you need to look at the position to tell them apart. Worse, there is only one positive wire. So unless your radio is so old that it doesn't have a digital display, you'll have to choose between turning the car on and off each time, or losing settings when you turn the car off. (I cut off the end of one of the preamp cables for one of theโ€ฆ

Great hull for mounting above or below deck. well made, everything included.

I've read a lot of good and bad reviews and I really do don't understand why it got so many negative reviews, as long as the installer has a basic knowledge of disassembling and assembling the item they shouldn't have any problems. The manufacturer provides everything you need to install this case. Once you've taken everything apart, including the small panel on the back of the unit that's held together with six small screws, it's easy to add or use existing cables for your components.
