Description of The Durand wine cork removal device - Preserve delicate aged corks seamlessly.

The Durand is a broadly patented device that is exceptionally effective in removing compromised and fragile corks, whole and intact, from older, valued wines. The Durand has been repeatedly tested on the most challenging corks. It has performed consistently and flawlessly. Using The Durand for older, fragile or compromised corks eliminates the unwanted outcomes of broken corks, corks pushed into bottles or corks partially removed leaving pieces floating in the wine. The Durand removes the cork whole and contained. The Durand is named for Yves Durand, a world-renowned sommelier, and a personal friend and mentor. The Durand is simple and easy to use...when used correctly. Please take a moment to look at the instructions diagram or the informative video on this page. Directions for use are also printed on the inside of the reusable wrapper that encases the cork presentation box of The Durand.

Corkscrew Durand Purchase

I bought this because I've been buying a lot of old wines lately. Older wines tend to have brittle corks, and the traditional corkscrew seals every bottle I open. Wine Catfish recommended Durand to me and it works great every time. This is the best tool for opening complex wine bottles and can be used as an everyday corkscrew. The price is worth saving a nice bottle of wine.

Pros
  • Kitchen Utensils and Gadgets
Cons
  • Communication with seller

Bad value. Best in Kitchen & Dining

This product is overpriced for what you get. It's essentially a combination of a corkscrew like ahh so and a plain corkscrew. You can buy both products of this quality level for less than $40. The uniqueness of this product is that it combines these two qualities, which is useful when you're pulling old corks, such as. B. old port wines or Bordeaux wines. (I mean from 15 years). If you open a lot of wines of this type, this is a useful item. But the price doesn't match the product.

I was pleasantly surprised

I was a bit nervous about buying this because of the price but now I'm glad I invested in this device. I first tried it on a 25-year-old red wine bottle from my cellar, which I knew from experience was almost guaranteed to break the cork with a standard corkscrew. This thing worked like a charm and was very simple. No more worries about broken corks and straining my old wines.

Pros
  • Corkscrew & Bottle Opener
Cons
  • Big and chunky

Beautiful vintage wine opener

Durand is a great opener that incorporates the traditional waiter's move and oh so. I only use it on old bottles because it takes some effort to use, but I've never found myself failing to pop the cork and almost every time I use it, it is First time using a traditional opener and I'm starting to feel like the cork is falling separately. It worked perfectly in all cases. So how precious is it to avoid dropping half or part of the cork into your beautiful 1982 Bordeaux bottle? Priceless!

Pros
  • Bar and wine tools
Cons
  • Legacy model
