A round of the game can be played quickly, or you can score from round to round and play to the point limit. It's going to be competitive at its best! I played this game a while ago and remembered I had a lot of fun so I decided to buy it. This is something like a cross between speed, solitaire and the Egyptian rat screw. My family loves this fast-paced game. This works well with a few people or a group of 8 people (but gets crazy!). The game is great - my problem is quality control. We have a plow (blue), a pump (green!), a bucket (green!) and a cart (red). We should have gotten a bunch of yellow cards - either pump or bucket I guess? My 12 year old son and I play together all the time and we have a great time. My husband and I also played with three players but he got upset because he was the slowest player and always lost. He's a good athlete, but he doesn't enjoy it. I don't think the number of players is as important as making sure the people playing are at roughly the same speed. i love this game. I grew up with it as a kid and taught it to a lot of people. It is very funny. Fast to learn and teach and very fast game. Overall, I can recommend the game 100%. The reason I give 4 stars is because I have two packs of this game and this one was of lower quality. I use the second as an extension to play with 8 people.
