Very small and thin housing with great properties. The flow is adjustable and even fully open, not too much for something like my 4 gallon nano tank. I can't speak to the included filter as I removed it in favor of other biocarriers and filter floss, but if you go that route it contains a decent amount of biocarriers for its size. Unfortunately this filter will not fit the plastic rims on my new 5.5 gallon brands when the rim is cut off. The inlet tube side of the filter is narrower than the other side, so the filter sits so crooked that water squirts out the back. I won't rate performance or noise as it was only plugged in for a minute before I noticed the problem. Currently I don't want to cut the edge of my nanoplanted tank setup to install this.
