I ordered this along with a new plug for my DC24 to replace my warning parts. What happens with the brush rod is that it won't fit snugly into the brush motor housing as the cap wears out. The brushed motor housing has 3 triangular shaped parts that fit into one end of the brush rod as it is inserted and a plug on the other end holds the rod firmly in the housing. I bought this and a few other customization parts for my Dyson DC24. When I installed this I didn't have to vacuum, so I haven't used that new brush to this day when the plant fell off (thanks cat).
