Trunk Tailgate Assist Lift Support Shock Strut for 2007-2018 Chevrolet Silverado & GMC Sierra Trucks: Enhance Lifting Capacities! Review

There should be a short assembly video or better written instructions. It's very simple, but the instructions could be better. In general I like it! Can open the tailgate and let it go down nice and smoothly. Has been running for 2 months now, no complaints. I don't use the trunk every day. So far, so good.

I bought this item for my 2013 Silverado 2500hd. When the item arrived it was missing the 2 pieces shown in the picture. I sent these back and ordered the DZ product myself from DZ and not from a third party. The real DZ (same part number and a few extra bucks) had everything you needed.

Very easy install in 2013 GMC Sierra 1500; the whole thing took about 10 minutes. The damper works as advertised. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because it doesn't come with the mylar head and screw lock mentioned. I used my own threadlocker and the instructions didn't make it clear where the mylar wear pad was supposed to be applied anyway.

If it is bolted to the tailgate, it comes with a bolt to hold the plate to the tailgate to install the strut after everything is assembled. this one screw is not enough to keep the plate constantly lost when opening and closing the tailgate. Tired of it and just welded to the tailgate. A cheap product unless you have a welder to attach the panel to the tailgate.

It was amazing. As long as you follow the direction you can't go wrong. The only thing I will mention is the pocket hole tool, I would recommend a little more detail on what this thing is. This will allow you to insert a screw holding the bottom panel in place. Be sure to tighten it before removing the installation tool. Overall super happy with the product.

Product works great, just as advertised and installation was easy. I watched a video on how to remove the nut setting tool. As I have read in other reviews there was no holder in the kit which is a necessity. I think I paid $11 at the auto parts store for some of them. There is blue and red. Get BLUE. Both are in red bottles. The color of the label on the bottle is "locktight" blue for blue and red for red. RED - permanent connection!

This is the second DEEZEE trunk release system that I have purchased and installed. RAM from 2001 and now Silverado from 2008. Both times the instructions were wrong or unclear. Also, several items were NOT included as they should have been and were listed as included. 1- Threadlocking tube 2- Mylar wrap pieces. This time I was able to figure it out, although the photos didn't match at all. Otherwise good value for money and a good product.
