Each Math Stacks game contains a total of 60 cards. The Fraction Equivalence deck includes 15 starter cards and 45 match cards. Cards measure 3" x 4". 1 to 4 players. This deck aligns with CCSS: 3.NF.3 4.NF.2. Recommended Grade(s): 3-5

Great for reviewing fractions!

I used the cards with a small group of 3 graders. They enjoyed it very much. I like that the cards show fractions in different ways.

Pros
  • This is a fun review of the many ways to understand what fractions are.
Cons
  • While the game features visuals and manipulatives for fraction representation, it doesn't offer a comprehensive approach to teaching fraction concepts

Great for one on one tutoring

I bought this game for a student really struggling to understand the concept of fractions. She enjoyed the game and with time, better understood equivalent fractions and modeling

Pros
  • This is a fun review of the many ways to understand what fractions are.
Cons
  • Poor quality: Some customers have complained that the game components are of poor quality, which makes it difficult for students to visually comprehend math concepts

Parent happy good for me

With school closures happening left and right, I was fortunate enough to be able to send some materials with the help of Donorschoose. The mom of the students who received these was so happy and grateful to be able to continue practicing grade level material in a fun, productive way. So glad I was able to send these off to her.

Pros
  • This is a great center game and review.
Cons
  • The EAI Education Math Stacks Fraction Equivalence Game only covers one math topic, fractions, meaning that it may not hold students' attention for very long

Great resource for building confidence with fractions!

I'm a homeschooler. My child thoroughly enjoys playing this game with me. I've noticed improvement in recognition of fractions and speed of processing in his game play in just a few days use. It plays like an altered version of Go Fish.

Pros
  • It was just as I wanted, Will order other products from this company.
Cons
  • Lack of variety

This game helped my child visualize the different ways that fractions can be displayed. Excellent teaching aid! Not age-appropriate: The EAI Education Math Stacks Fraction Equivalence Game is marketed for grades 3-5, but some users have found it too easy and unchallenging for this age group!
