A massive boom for your backyard

The biggest problem with outdoor sound is the lack of boundary walls that allow it to play BASS. This stone solves that problem. However, it uses a lot of power and I recommend at least 300 watts of power per stone. It does a really good job though, and being above ground it won't soak up water like some of the underground subs. I'm a sound professional and I really like this product.

Pros
  • Sturdy epoxy construction
Cons
  • unreliable

So far, so good! suitable for loudspeakers

The Earthquake 10D woofer is a passive unpowered woofer. The product description does not say so. The installation documentation does not specify that these are the traditional left and right inputs. I connected them to the Bose SA-5 amplifier in parallel with the Bose 251, observing polarity. Red is +. The SA-5 handles the 10D and 251 very well. There is no clipping at any volume or other signs of overload. 10D is a very good complement to the 251s. it naturally fills the bottom end. From a…

Now there is one of each. Both sound great at low-mid levels, but when I turn up the volume, the Earthquake Sound speaker connector starts to rattle loudly. The audio itself isn't distorted, but panting spoils the audio for me. To fix this I reduced the bass output on my EQ. It doesn't sound as good as it used…

Great in the short time it has worked

We bought this four years ago and it has worked great for about 2 months. The subwoofer started crackling and rattling and eventually just stopped making noise. I requested a repair which was provided but I had to pay $60 to have it shipped across the country. The worker came back (fixed, not replaced) but after about two months it broke again. I asked for help again but they told me this was not a warranty case. They made some recommendations, but no repairs were made. I opened up the…
