Works as intended

The auto mechanic programs quickly ($85) and so far so good. There was no transponder chip in the new key and if it was in the package the locksmith didn't see it and so it disappeared. To avoid the $20 chip fee, I asked him to replace the original key with a new remote. Definitely a huge saving compared to going to the dealer or buying a remote control from a locksmith.

  • There are nuances

Good for the price. The reason for the 4 stars is that the flip key gets stuck in the fob and I have to physically pull it out. Notes: My local Walmart cut my key for FREE! Key or fob (search online) or 2. You will need to take it to a locksmith or dealer to program a new security transponder chip (1 comes with this fob. Don't throw it away. It looks like a little clumsy one piece of black plastic) I used good old trusty Google to learn how to program remote controls. Programming took less than

Works perfectly! on anti-theft

It was that simple. I have a Mazda 3. I looked at the install and all I had to do was: 1.) Open my door 2.) Turn the key three times to turn it on and off. 3.) Open/close door 3x 4.) Press unlock 2x.5.) . and viola! Brand new keychain that works great.

Great Replacement Key Fob 07 Mazda Miata MX-5

Great Replacement Key Fob for 2007 Mazda Miata MX-5. I had a chip and could program it (tutorial on You Tube). All I have to do now is cut off the key and have a full backup (the car only had 1 key when I bought it).

Pros
  • Easy Setup
Cons
  • Many Things

It works but the bottom buttons are backwards

We received this as a spare key to unlock the car when my wife's keys got stuck in the car when my fob touched my pocket. We have a 2012 Mazda 3 4 door and it's easy to program but the panic and trunk buttons are swapped. It doesn't matter as it's just a backup for us, but it's worth mentioning for those looking for a keychain replacement.

IT WORKS! MAZDA 6 2010

I took a chance and it paid off! I bought this for a friend who was only interested in locking/unlocking doors. Follow the instructions in the YouTube video. The first video had an extra step that made it not work. Went to the next video and it worked like a charm. Programming took less than a minute. Another reviewer posted the steps so I knew we were on the right track. This only applies to lock/unlock/panic button and trunk. These steps do NOT program the key itself to start the car. If you…
