ECOGARD XA6272 Premium Engine Air Filter: Compatible with Ford Fusion & Edge Models 2013-2020 Review

Used to change the filter in my 2017 Ford Edge Sel. It was really easy to switch. On the underside of the filter was a piece of cloth covering the find of the filter. I'm not sure if this would block the airflow, but I suppose if there's something I can use now, and if it got dirty I could remove it to increase the flow.

The price was half that of the brands. However, it does have an approximately 3/8" thick foam pad glued to the intake side. On my 2015 Ford Edge, this seemed to make installation difficult. It's difficult to install properly and close the lid completely. I am too worried the foam might impede airflow.won't buy again.

it amazes me that guys insist on name brand car parts. While they may be slightly better, compared to the results, the difference is negligible. If you're the type who thinks he or she can only have big branding details on something as simple as this, I say you have too much money, use your head. This is a great product and I always use it.

The air filter I received looked different than the one I removed from my car. At the time of purchase the car had about 34,000 miles so I'm sure the air filter has not been changed yet. It sure was dirty. The new one seems to have some sort of cotton that doesn't seem to come loose and is firmly glued to the filter. Not sure how this affects airflow as I think it makes it harder but we'll see!
