But they are as advertised.

These biodegradable bags are just what you need. They break down, making them perfect for your typical compostable kitchen waste. However, they are very flimsy and will break in your compost bin. Maybe not every time, but we've seen about 25% of them start vomiting and licking long before we actually put them in the bin. I would say the average time before a pouch starts to turn black is about a week. As I said, not all of these bags are created equal as some of them last longer, but I wouldn't

Pros
  • 2-1/2 gallon capacity
Cons
  • Not sure

Strong enough for my use but now too expensive

FC11301-GS. They can rip at times, but I've never had a problem with bags biodegrading prematurely. I bought a couple of these two years ago and they just ran out. I couldn't be more shocked at the current price. Sold by Revain.com for $8.12 for a box of 25 with free Super Saver shipping at the time of this review. It costs $0.32 per bag. When I bought them two years ago they were $6.42 for two boxes of 25 - almost triple the price. And yes, they were too expensive. I have no idea why theseโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Conforms to ASTM standard specification #D6400 for compostable products
Cons
  • Only available in black

I have these bags and use them in my compost bin. I don't like her very much. They fit very well in a container, almost perfectly, but they need to be a bit larger so they can be tied at the top when full. This is a bit of a problem because when they are full they will be quite heavy so I don't fill them all the way. My main issues with these bags are that they leak and degrade too quickly. Before they are even half full with regular plant material, the bag will begin to decompose like compostโ€ฆ
