Carburetor rating, no jet engine. I love how easy it is to mix and match jets and rods with an Edelbrock carburetor. No removal of the carburetor is required for operation.

Just what my little Ford 302 needs for the AFR kit. The results increased power at all rpm and improved shifting on my C4 after matching the Carter AFB carburetor with Edelbrock's gauge bars and injectors.

Served its purpose. You just have to find the right combination of rods and injectors to get the right air/fuel ratio. The problem is that at Edelbrock you sometimes have to make compromises. Unfortunately, if you need power to get really rich, you also need to get rich on the cruising side. But with your combination of engines (everyone is different) you can be successful in both cruising and performance.

I'm in the process of adjusting my 1406 carburetor to a 1405 and these guys are doing great so far! I also ordered standard 1405 ratchet bars. The edelbrock 1406 carburetors are tuned more compactly for better fuel economy than the 1405 which has been trimmed for power and has a mechanical choke. The difference between them lies in the size of the nozzle, the metering rods and the electric or mechanical throttle. That's all! Plus, it's the same carb!
