Smaller than stated

This frame is NOT 8" in diameter. It's 7.5 inches on the outside. On the inside (which took me 8 inches to hang my embroidery design, which is about 7 inches wide) the diameter is 6.75 inches.

Pros
  • Embroidery
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

A good hoop is strong and smooth

I've found that I like a wooden hoop more than the hard plastic that's been popular lately. In the end I broke down and bought these German tires; I wish I had bought them sooner as now I only use the two I bought. Donating my plastic and cheaper wooden hoops to a local thrift store.

Generally very good quality for needlework

The wooden hanger is generally smooth, will not stick to most fabrics. The adjustment screw is textured to make it easier to turn with your fingers; It also has a screwdriver slot on the end of the adjustment screw if you must, but I don't see myself using it. In general, the hoop for handicrafts is of very good quality. Higher I would call it if there was a felt liner inside, hoping to prevent slipping and improve the polish of the wooden rings.

Pros
  • Needlework
Cons
  • Doubtful
