DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY AND TIME ON THIS DEVICE. NOT WORTH.

I won't write reviews lightly, but this one deserves it. After my 9 year old only used it for a few months (and then not every day) the buttons stopped working and there is nothing we can do or fix. Very cheap and poor quality product. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON THIS DEVICE.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Some flaws

Broke after 2 days of brief use

I'd love to hear other reviews. Keys 1-3 stopped working after 2 days. The box was long gone with the New Year's rubbish, so I can't return it. Sad, believe it or not, this was one of the top toys my son wanted for Christmas. Now it's paper pulp. I wouldn't recommend it and would happily spend more on ebay for the mathblaster you want

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Empty

Digital Flash Cards

My daughter loves this math tool. She got it for Christmas to help her learn multiplication facts. She took him to school to show and tell. They should be treated like digital flashcards. I put her on level one so she could learn the multiplication tables factor by factor. When she's done, I verbally interrogate her while I cook dinner or fold the laundry. It helped us because I don't have to sit with a deck of cards for fifteen minutes.

Pros
  • Works well
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

That does not work! About Educational Electronic Toys

I bought this for my grandson for his 4th birthday because he loves numbers and math. I thought it would be a great educational toy for him. I put batteries in and tried the few things that seemed to work well. On the day of his party, September 26th, he was excited when he opened it but so disappointed when it didn't work. I thought maybe I had a bad set of batteries. I found out today that the batteries have been changed a couple of times and it still doesn't work. Very disappointing…

Pros
  • Durable Test Results
Cons
  • Safety

I really wanted to like this device

I really wanted to like this device. It had the features I was looking for. Unfortunately I had to heed the other 1 star reviews. We received it on Friday afternoon. He stopped working on Monday. And yes, I tried new batteries. The 6-year-old had a hard time pressing the buttons properly because they were soft and inconsistent when they worked and when they didn't. For example, if you press 8 once, the number will not be displayed. Other times two eights will appear and you will have to clear…

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

It helps a lot to learn the multiplication tables!

When I was a kid I had a similar toy called "Mr. Professor" by Texas Instruments. I really liked it but they don't make them anymore. I can't remember all the features it had, but I'm pretty sure Educational Insights' Math Whizz is even better. My third grader used this toy to practice speed drills with multiplication tables and division. It is excellent. She loves to top her last time! It has multiple levels so you can limit the questions to only the 3's or 8's and so on. Or you can practice…

Pros
  • Enjoyable
Cons
  • Obsolete model

Reviewed by 2nd grade mom

My 2nd grade daughter measures addition and subtraction. The idea is that children know the answer to 9+8 (for example) without even thinking about it. Her teacher said that even though she knew 9+8 equals 17, she had to write that number faster. The teacher recommended flashcards to increase speed. While flashcards are great, they're not that fun for kids. It's like electronic cards and my kid loves it. There is a map mode and a calculator mode. There are also different levels. So at level 1…
