First thing to know is that this set of items does not include the microcontroller or instructions (may be available if you contact the company) to build the auto-watering system. This only includes the pumps, sensors, relay board, and tubing. I was really excited to try this kit and automate watering my plants, but i'm really disappointed with the quality. I was not expecting to only get two functioning capacitive sensors.

The sensors (all 4) lost power after I tried to use it. Also the relay stopped working and I had to use a back up one instead. Not very sastified with what I paid for.

Just take care when ordering this kit , in the diagrams shown as part of the product description another pc board is displayed which is not part of the kit , you have to purchase a separate Arduino R3 pc board to assemble and program this kit , you also need knowledge of Arduino programming ( I still have not figured it out ) , it is definitely not a diy kit that you just assemble and it works .

It appears this seller learned their lesson in regards to the previous bad reviews. I was given an extra motor, and only one motor didn't work. Relay boards work, soil moisture sensors work. 5/5. If anything fails after a month or two I'll update

The package arrived with 5 pumps even though the pictures only show 4 but one of the pumps ended up not working when I applied power to it so I basically still got 4 working pumps. All the pumps came with short wires which were less than a foot which is probably not enough for most applications. I ended up extending the wires by at least another foot. The relay arrived with a bent pin which was easily straightened out. One of the relay channels doesn't work which is slightly irritating but the…

Have only tried the motors so far, will update with further use. That being said 2/4 motors are fine and working. The third motor was DOA, does not work. The fourth motor isn’t even the right type. It has no inlet/outlets on it.

The pumps are weak. Pumps only 2 feet or less. The water reservoir should be at the same level as the pots otherwise the pump is not strong enough to pump the water.

Reach out to the seller for the instructions. They were really quick about getting them to me. They don't really specify in the ad, but this kit is meant to hook up to something in the Arduino universe. They provide good pics and use an Uno as an example. The code is provided and I appreciate the small details like baud rate, etc. I was expecting a lot less and so was very pleased. I think the instructions are worth more than the parts.

Works great and is pretty accurate with the few plants we have. Even used the single motor sketch seperately to automatically refill my coffee pot.
