Nice addition to the Elac bookshelf speakers

I bought Elac bookshelf speakers a while back but paired them with a center channel speaker from another brand. When this speaker finally failed, I decided to hook it up to bookshelf speakers. Be careful - this is a BIG speaker! But the quality is superb - I just need to tweak my receiver to get the best out of it; just found time. So my rating is based on my current settings - I will update my rating when I adjust the audio.

6 inch drivers sound like a winner

Perfectly balanced center sound with two 6" drivers. I use it with my Pioneer vsx-932. I wanted the connectors to be in front of the speaker and the center to be against the wall. The Vocals are clean and can handle a decent amount of bass without losing tone Enough charge for my room Sounds better than my old Klipsch Close to my Polk RTI But my Polk LSIm is much better but the LSIm is much more expensive. This debut is a big solid well built heavy box. Make sure you have room for it. I bought…

Not as good as bookshelves.

This is a large center speaker. Basically they took two 6.2 bookshelf speakers and connected them together. I think the mistake they made was the two bass ports on the sides. This causes the speaker to produce a dull "tinny" effect not found on out-of-this-world bookshelves. In my opinion you need a more natural (sealed case) speaker for your center, since not much bass is sent to the center anyway. In short: buy debut bookshelves or 6.2 towers for your fronts, but opt for a high-end airtight…

Placement matters

I added this center speaker to my 2 ELAC Debut B6.2 bookshelf speakers to create a 3.0 system. I've found this helps clarify dialogue, but only when placed very close to ear level and carefully centered. The manufacturer also highlights the location, but I wasn't able to track it closely at first and the results were poor. A foot or so difference in pitch makes a big difference in the perception of sound. So keep in mind that you need to be able to pretty much pinpoint that huge center speaker…

This speaker is amazing, overkill? Maybe, but it's worth it.

I bought these speakers to complete my entertainment center sound system. I bought the original B6 speakers a few years ago but didn't invest in the center at the time as I only used the speakers to play music. I wasn't sure if I wanted to buy a C6 or a C5 and decided on the C6 as I felt I would one day have a bigger entertainment space. The speakers are AMAZING. Honestly, I'd like the C5 just as well, especially since the room is quite small. I didn't even turn up the volume and it was VERY…
