The production smell (like many things from China) does NOT go away AT ALL. We've boiled it several times before using it, washed it with soap and water, and swished vinegar in it, and it STILL smells horrible and leaves a horrible aftertaste in everything we drink. To be honest I don't think it's safe to drink from.

We are on our way and need something for Indian tea. I bought this steel kettle that starts heating water as soon as you push the button. You can hear the water heating up immediately, and it boils so quickly, much faster than in the microwave or on the stovetop. Super fast boil, plus auto shut off. Don't worry if you forget to turn it off. Wireless feeding is very convenient. Compact yet strong and durable.

Product arrived on time as expected. Works great, water is very hot, very fast. The only problem was that it took me a while to get rid of the "metallic" taste of the water. I washed it with soap and water about 6 times, cut up the lemons and boiled the water (3-4 times) and finally left the lemon water in the pot over the weekend, all was fine by Monday. After all the kettle was excellent, would buy again and recommend.

I bought this kettle on purpose because it was advertised with a stainless steel interior so the water boiling inside doesn't come in contact with the plastic.
