Description of πŸ“‘ Electrodepot 433 MHz Unity Gain Omni Antenna: 6" with Magnetic Base & Male SMA Connector - 50 Ohm Impedance

HIGH QUALITY AND DURABLE – Unity Gain Omnidirectional 6 Inches long antenna with 60 inches premium coaxial cable and male SMA connector. APPLICATIONS – 433MHz is a commonly used frequency band for all types of equipment that require little power, such as garage door openers, headphones, baby monitors and remote controls. OMNIDIRECTIONAL – Wireless transmitting or receiving antenna that sends or receives radio frequency (RF) and electromagnetic fields as well in all horizontal directions in a flat, two-dimensional (2D) geometric plane. Omnidirectional antennas are used in most consumer RF wireless devices, including cellular telephone handsets and wireless routers. MAGNETIC BASE – Designed with a magnetic base. The antenna can be placed on any iron surface horizontally or vertically. However, the vertical position is recommended for better signal. SMA CONNECTOR AND 50 OHMS IMPEDANCE – 60 inch coaxial cable with male SMA connector for easy connection, so no extension is needed.

Improvement of the range of the antenna.

I can now open my gate from 50 feet. I used to have to be 10-20 feet away and sometimes even closer. Auto, which is a very important feature. Too bad it's not further.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Improved remote control operation

Helped a bit to reduce interference from the fence compared to the ridiculous 1/8 wave nano antenna that came with my Mighty Mule 371. Still not as good as the MM271, but it works from about 15 feet away on the first try, which is acceptable.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Highly recommended! A++

Great antenna. We had problems with the gate opener, we had to walk to the driveway to open the gate. Now with just a quick press (even if the remote control is in your pocket) and you're in the house, the gate opens immediately. 100% recommended. Very satisfied. By the way, my gate is kind of far from home. That works great.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • So far so good

It really increased the range of my Mighty Mule opener.

The magnet was either friendly or weak but a strong wind knocked it over so I had to use a wire to stop it from moving. But it increased the range of my Mighty Mule opener. It's hard to say how much. My range varied from 6 feet to 20 or 50 feet depending on the number of sunspots on those days. But overall I am satisfied with this antenna. My Mighty Mule works thanks to this antenna and not in a dumpster.

Increased range of the Ghost Controls gate opener

I am having problems with the range of my Ghost Controls gate opener. After many attempts to contact the manufacturer I decided to take a chance and buy this antenna and an adapter to connect to the standard coax cable connector on the control box. My range has doubled the best range I've ever had with a standard antenna and about 10 times the distance I had before this antenna was installed. Maybe not what it was intended for, but it works!

Not sure if it's 433MHz

I don't know much about radio and certainly don't have harmonic meters, but that's clearly not the right length for 433MHz. I first used a 1/4 wave whip, which I used to cut 22 gauge wire, and there was -27 to -40dB between my two transceivers. I bought 2 of these, changed whips and got -80db to -90db in the same range. I thought I screwed something up, but I bought 2 different antennas off Amazon (a duck and a set of coils) and immediately saw a 30-40dB signal increase.

Pros
  • Accessories and supplies
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Ideal for extending the range of the gate operator

I used this antenna to extend the range of my gate controls with a 433mhz signal. Before I connected this antenna I only got about 25 feet (and even that was inconsistent) that was just to the end of my street where the gate is located (the control box with the receiver is installed in the garage). Now I have constant signal from across my yard (about 50 feet from the front of the driveway). The antenna cable was long enough to attach the antenna to a downspout under the canopy with a magnet…

Pros
  • Audio and video accessories
Cons
  • Damaged
