Bad, good and a little deceptive.

Disadvantages: no weight plate or anything else to connect the camera. All I had were sticks. I also ordered a vertical arm so I'm hoping these items will come with it. If not, please direct me to the page where I can buy a camera mount. Pros: It seems solid once I have all the extra parts needed to use it. Additional note: when I bought this I was under the impression that it came with a vertical bar based on the photo. It is not. So make sure you have a pole so they can arrive at the same…

  • Ideal for outdoor activities

Without stand or camera mount, waste

Without stand or camera mount, waste. Judging by all the photos of this thing, it's attached to the table with all sorts of gear. What they don't tell you is that there is no tabletop or camera mount option. This item was sent to me from another country, so it is most likely not possible to return it. Build quality is good, but it really annoys me that I have to buy several other products to use this in the classic greedy Elgato style.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Great mount but broken

This is my second Elgato mount (the other is part of my Key Light). It seems to be built really well. However, the upper collar broke almost immediately on this shoe and I had to send it back. Now that I'm fitting the other one, I'm afraid to loosen it for fear it might break. Also this thing is very strong with a lot of adjustments but here the plastic wedge detached from the outer collar which once detached could not be adjusted nor fixed. That being said, this would make a great mount for…

The hinges are not fixed, do not support DSLR + pan head.

I bought this to use as a third party DSLR camera mount and pan head. I've weighed both, and per Elgato the hand needs to support both, but they don't. The hinges don't snap and I'm afraid they wear out every time I have to reposition the boom. I've tightened the connections without any tools at all, and I'm concerned that if I overtighten the connections, the latch bolt handles will break. This can be a great product if the connections snap. Anyway, I regret buying them and should have just…

Two defective devices

Exactly the device I was looking for. Unfortunately two of the ones I received are both defective. The top of the first block stretched but was stiff. When I tried to close it, it didn't collapse again. The collar was completely loose, but even with weight on it I couldn't pull it back. Both replacement parts were tight when pushed in and out. and then slowly walked on. and then they were hard. Now the bottom block doesn't lengthen at all. The top block came out with a lot of resistance and I…

Fits wide phones even with a thick case

I have a Samsung Galaxy S9+ and a thick phone case and I needed a holder that could hold it. Due to the size of my phone, it wasn't easy to find something that would fit. This Elgato smartphone mount was able to meet my needs. It can hold a phone and a phone case with a total length of about 1cm thickness. It holds the phone in place with a spring mechanism. There are two 1/4-20 sockets on the bottom and back of the holder. The 1/4-20 port on the back allows you to replace the cheap plastic…

The smartphone hardly holds up.

Be careful when buying this flexible arm! This flexible bracket kit barely holds my Samsung Galaxy S10. I also received a smartphone holder, but the images advertised are misleading; It shows a DSLR mounted on a universal mount, which is fine, but also shows a mirrorless or DSLR on this flex arm kit, which is misleading. Maybe even false advertising. Even my 9.4 ounce point and shoot (Canon PowerShot SX700 HS) puts too much stress on the flex arm and it sags even when you tighten the…
