Just won't work

This latest batch of washable purple glue sticks from Elmer just won't stick. It dries very quickly and even if the glue is applied very thickly it only holds nominally. There may be a manufacturing issue. Whatever the case, just avoid this product, it's useless.

Pros
  • Acid-free, photosafe, non-toxic and wipeable
Cons
  • Almost never

Thick stacking

I really need to use this to tape two sheets of paper together. Again, I have to be very quick or it will dry out and lose its grip before I can reattach it. I think I've bought this brand before and haven't had any issues so this particular batch must have been a failure.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • New competition is here

Great for 3D printing

I use this on my Creality CR-10s 3D printer with Ikea LOTS mirror. The glue turns purple and dries white so you know when to print. The glue gave me great results, good adhesion and good removal after the print had cooled. It also works well on paper, but I use it specifically for 3D printing.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No car

Good Project Glue Stick - Recommended

We use Elmer's glue sticks for school posters and science fairs for kids and in our small shop to make temporary signs. I like that it's purple. when applying, since the glue application is clearly visible and dries colorless, so that it is not visible through light-colored paper. It's not a very strong adhesive and it's easy to remove items attached to it, so we take a pen with us when we need to move a poster or billboard to fix something that may have come loose. All in all a good glue stick

Pros
  • Pretty Packaging
Cons
  • Don't Remember
