How did a company like Elmer come up with packaging that doesn't seal well? If you hit the putty on the lid or edges it will not seal and the putty will dry and harden. The resulting putty texture after sanding will not be very smooth and will require a few coats of primer and re-sanding to prepare it for painting. I bought this on recommendation for 3D printing smoothing. The contents, especially around the rim and the sealed edge, were dry. The container was new with no sign of opening. The middle part is still sticky but relatively thick. I think it's really an old batch. Dried contents in the edge of the lid prevent a 100% closure, which drastically shortens the shelf life after opening. Overall I cannot recommend this product due to quality control issues.
