Ideal for quilting

Ideal for temporarily tying two fabrics together. It dissolves well in water. Very cheap compared to glue sticks at the quilt store.

Pros
  • Done
Cons
  • So far so good

Not very good for office and school supplies

Actually they are no better than ordinary school sticks. I've used it for some nice crafts, but after a few days when the paper is slightly bent, it comes off. Disappointing.

Pros
  • Also understandable for old people
Cons
  • Quality

I mean if you apply it in bits it will stick (maybe) but not as much as I think it should for "extra strength". Regular liquid glue is many times stronger. Not expensive but I still spent over $4 on a product that is useless for my projects.

Pros
  • Same as everything before
Cons
  • Not bad

Slides like a batta!

wow! I received Elmer's High Strength Glue Stick today and am using it right now. This glue stick glides very smoothly and easily. The glue is good. This was my first time trying Elmer's glue stick and it's great! I have Elmer's White Liquid Glue and have used it before, but who hasn't? Both types of glue are great for paper crafts, but liquid glue works better on thicker paper than glue stick. I used Uhu glue stick but Elmer is the best!

Pros
  • Provides bonding for home and office use.
Cons
  • New competitors have appeared.

Extra strength, how is the week regular?

I bought these because they said they were stronger. They have no strength at all, not a single muscle can be seen. Based on this claim from what I believe to be a reputable brand, I decided to use them to re-glue my engine block. Not only did it not stick together, but there was no strength in doing so. In fact, I had to generate additional, additional power to compensate for the lack of power. I ended up giving them to my kids and they seemed amazing as baby glue, but as a solution for extra…

Pros
  • Acid free and lightproof
Cons
  • Not sure

Improved durability, works as expected

I use it primarily for sticking carbon-printed USPS shipping labels onto their glossy Priority Mail envelopes. I was running out of regular Elmer glue stick so I decided to try the extra strength like I've done with regular glue and then use duct tape to hold the label for extra security. I find Extra Strength extra strong, labels stick better, I'm tempted not to use tape but for common sense I do add a bit of tape (albeit less) than before. Note that some reviews said they weren't good at…

Pros
  • Ideal for display boards, styrofoam, cardboard, computer paper, etc.
Cons
  • No Automatic
