I really want this product to be liked more

I really wish I liked this product more. I have found that the slider does not snap and stays in place during use. Move the blade down while cutting. It's true that not all blades will fit, we use one of these in the kitchen for small jobs where kitchen scissors just won't fit. And we prefer Z-style blades, but to make it work with this handle I have to carefully remove a millimeter or two from the blade with a needle file. We used it to replace the regular aluminum cap as the cap often came…

Pros
  • Has a secure, retractable #11 blade
Cons
  • Crumpled

Missed it, IMHO

While the idea is great, the execution is poor. I explain: I use X-actos all day in the advertising business so I know what works and what doesn't. I'll start with the cons as they are required to make a reservation over the pros. Cons: 1) It's important to note that I can get blades that I can order from my suppliers, assuming they're never X-acto brand either. MANY #11 blade makers will not fit in the holder. There is a small portion of the blade that extends beyond the width of the blade's…

Pros
  • Offers a metal core design for durability
Cons
  • Could have gone for a newer model

New blade won't lock

If you're getting it for the first time, great. but I etch glass so I cut patterns on glass. I can get 1 maybe 2 glasses per blade, not that big of a deal, I assume all knives with glass suck when I cut glass. Sponges, insert new blade, tighten. easy enough, right? Yes, until the blade slips the next time you use it. I think I finally got it fixed, but here are some tips for the next person replacing that blade1: You have to disassemble the whole head to get the blade deep enough into the jaw…

Pros
  • Provides extra control with a soft, comfortable triangular grip
Cons
  • Quick guide
