🔧 Emerson Adjustable Snap Disc Fan Control 3F05-1 Review

Purchased for use with my (12v) solar powered fan in the tool shed. I like the ability to set the tempo. works great so far. Helps bring out the heat.

It works as intended, I used it to take the temperature on my NPPT solar controller and turn on the cooling fan. The controller is mounted without sufficient space for cooling.

Helps turn gas fireplace fan on and off. I set it to a higher cutoff temperature so the fan noise cuts off sooner after the flame goes out and it works. I have warmNglo. I had to make a mount for this, which wasn't difficult.

We needed a temperature switch for our greenhouse where temperatures reached 115F in May. This switch controls a 70W solar panel and a 12V 80W fan. This switch makes it super easy to set the temperature with a dial on the back and that's about it. The build quality of the dial is cheap but seems adequate for now. This is the only switch we need.

I installed it on a Quadrafire i1100 pellet stove. Although it's about twice the size of the original dome, I've customized it with two short straps with holes on each end. One end threads into an existing bolt hole in the oven wall, and the bolt and nut on the other end secure the stop washer to the bracket so that the washer covers about half of the hole in the oven wall.

I modified my new electric garage heater so that the fan only runs when the heater is on. Before the fan turned off immediately after turning off the element - this made the heater too hot outside for a few minutes. After this switch is in place and properly connected, the fan will blow until the element cools. A win! Adjustability makes this temperature switch worthwhile—no guesswork.

Works great! It has a temperature setting of 90 to 130 F. I use this for my fan. If I set it to 90F, my fan turns on at 100F and off at 80F. This 20 degree rotation (10 degrees in each direction) is a common and very practical design feature that allows for a wide range of operation. The manual temperature setting is very convenient and you can easily adjust it with a screwdriver. I recommend this to anyone who wants to control the temperature of fans or blowers.

Product received and installed quickly. However, the unit it is in will not be used until next winter. At that point I will be able to change this review in one way or another. What I can say now is that the apparent adjustment is not simply discontinued, if at all. I didn't try too hard when the item broke.
