Lovely carafe and what a great idea to have a frozen slice on the floor. The easily hinged lid did not open/close as advertised. I emailed the company several times with no response. I returned this product for a refund.

I use it for decanting and serving red wine. Outside the cellar, the wine is at about 60 degrees, and this decanter keeps the wine cool for about 3 hours (at room temperature, the temperature rise is about 2-4 degrees). This works for my purpose of maintaining temperature. Beautifully and tastefully furnished.

I bought this carafe because I wanted fresh water in the bathroom to drink and brush my teeth as we have well water. .
