Easy install and good job after 2 months

I installed this to replace the dual fan/light combo switch (single bracket) that was originally in the house (1993). The knobs failed and "bite" no more when trying to turn the plastic knobs to change the fan or turn off the light (I used needle nose pliers to turn the knobs). This slide switch was easy to install and worked well with both the 3 speed fan and the 5 bulbs (60w LEDs from Warehouse Club) installed in my home office. I can easily adjust the fan speed and light brightness, and the…

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Some cons

I installed this switch in a room as a test and I liked it so I ordered 2 more very well. The dimming function is very smooth with our LED lights. The only thing I didn't like was that they reversed the order of the high, middle, low positions on the fan switch. If you press the fan switch all the way down, it's a "low" fan speed, not a "high". This is the opposite of how the first switch I bought works (and the opposite of how the light switch works in the same device) and is counterintuitive.

Pros
  • Test for a year
Cons
  • Fade out

Ideal for controlling a fan and lights connected to the same switch

I installed this switch this morning. It all took maybe 10 minutes if that. We have an LED fan connected to a single switch. This switch allows you to independently control the fan speed as well as the brightness of the light. The selector slides smoothly and clicks firmly at any fan speed. Anyone who says that the fan speed has reversed incorrectly must have no idea how electric drives work. It is best to start the fan motor at high speed and then change it to a lower speed as this reduces…

Better than its predecessor, but still not the same.

Our house is 21 years old. The original fan/light switch failed completely when we changed the bulbs to LED. We bought this switch to replace the original. It was very easy to install. The fan part works, but logically the other way around. The first position from off is the fastest fan position. If you go up, the position farthest from "off" is the lowest fan speed. However, it works. But there is no light switch. It's way better than the old switch, but it needs to be on or fully dimmed to…
