At $24 I was expecting a genuine OEM part. Appears to be a Chinese replacement. I could buy a Chinese replacement at an auto parts store for $7 with a lifetime warranty. live and learn

Nothing wrong with that, but I ordered.

Nothing wrong with that, but I originally ordered the wrong sensor. Make sure the engine temp sensor has 2 pins and not just one. There are 2 common types. For older models (specifically 5.7L Indmar, 1996 EFI) you can find another one here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00027GZ7I/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Approximate Accuracy: Coolant Temp

Good price but like I said you get what you pay for. Did an ohm test with this meter when he got it. The Merc book says 450 ohms at 160 degrees (F). The sensor showed 425 ohms which means it is telling the ECU that the engine is running hotter than it actually is. I've tested it as the temperature rises and falls and it consistently read less ohms than the OEM spec. I will try though and update this thread if I find unsatisfactory results.
