Save Old Collar

This was purchased to replace the igniter on my Englander 25 pdv pellet stove. After a struggle to grow old. (no fault of the seller) I wanted to buy a new one and it didn't fit the collar that came with it. (doesn't fit the hole.) I removed the old collar from the old igniter and used it on the new one. I took a nail file to the collar to make it fit perfectly. In summary, the detonator itself works great, only the collar part is a bit big.

Not good. the best heating, cooling and air quality

I bought this igniter to replace one that failed for the second year. The first one I bought broke on the third night. I called Revain and they immediately sent me a replacement. I asked if I should send the old one back and got the answer "No. Just throw it away," which was a nice touch on her part. The second came quickly and I installed it. This lasted about 2 months. I don't think it's my stove's fault. I connected a voltmeter to the ignition wires and got about 110 volts, which is normal…

Goes great with an old collar.

This appears to be an exact replacement for the original igniter. The igniter itself looks identical, the wires are the same length, etc. As others have pointed out, the problem is that the new igniter's collar is too big to fit in the oven. The original collar has an outside diameter of 0.74 inch (18.8 mm). The new collar has an outside diameter of 0.786 inch (19.98 mm). In my case, swapping the collars was very easy. Just note that you will need both metric and imperial hex keys. The set…

Has worked in New England for 1 season

Has stopped working after 1 year of seasonal use. I bought this igniter for my pellet stove about a year ago. I live in Massachusetts so we use it seasonally. Now the igniter stopped working almost exactly 1 year after installation. Does anyone know if this is the normal life cycle of a detonator? Installation was a bit fiddly but doable. Be careful of your hands on the sharp metal of the plate. My stove had bottlenecks and cut my knuckles several times. (I am a professional, some of the metal…

Works the same as making a product with no cost. But keep the old socket

Everyone was right, the socket on the new socket was about 1/8 inch larger than the standard socket. After struggling with it, I removed the old one. Installed the old bushing with a new set screw. But the new adjusting screw was too long. help you in the future. Be careful not to tighten the locknut over the stud. You also need an air gap at the end of the igniter and a hole in the pellet stove. Make sure there is enough clearance (1/8 inch) before tightening the jam nut.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Some flaws

Easy installation and works perfectly!

Easy to install. With the Englander 25-PDVC pellet stove, all you have to do is loosen the square screw, move this part and disconnect the two cables from the control. As it is not polarity sensitive (AC voltage) you don't have to worry about cables being in any order. One thing I noticed is that the collar should be wider than the hair and not go all the way in, but I took the old collar off and put it on. Just in OEM quality. It was nice to see the pellets ignite without having to manually…

I give this point 5, but there are serious ones.

I'm giving this item a 5 but I'm having serious problems with the installation. I've had a PDVC-25 with a detonator since about 2007 and it has worked reasonably well so far. The supplier of this product who was extremely helpful as well as English technical support. I pulled out the original with difficulty, and even after grinding, the new ignition sleeve does not fit on my stove. The original primer will not come loose or I could reuse it. still working on it The price and fast delivery are…
